CLUBS & SOCIETIES
Clubs and societies is a Social department DOMICILED IN THE Dean of Students office. It is very important helping the college students interact and carry out their activities effectively in the college.
Clubs
This is a department in the college which consists of areas to do with music, drama, 4k club, rangers and rovers, journalism and wildlife and entertainment club among others.
Societies
This department involves faith based organizations and other social welfares. Societies here include Christian Union (CU), Young Christian Societies (YCS), Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) and Islamic Association (IA). This department of society is mainly concerned with spiritual buildup of the faiths of the students.
The department of clubs and societies is organized by the club officials and society organizers. The staff members are also involved as the patrons.
The student’s body in clubs and societies normally organize for outings to different institutions and field tours for example YCS, SDA and CU normally visit other institutions for services to enhance collaborations and socializations.
In Migori Teachers College the clubs and societies normally meet on Thursdays so that they can organize themselves, solve problems experienced by the members in their societies and clubs.
Entertainment in the college fall under the docket of clubs. Entertainment deals with refreshments of brains and body to break the boredom after a long day academic work. Entertainment assists the learners to release the energies which could result into strikes, drugs and substance abuse and all sorts of idleness.
