Research is creative and systematic work undertaken to increase the stock of knowledge”. It involves the collection, organization and analysis of evidence to increase understanding of a topic, characterized by a particular attentiveness to controlling sources of bias and error.

Migori teachers college vision is to become a centre of global excellence in teacher education and training. In order to achieve this, the college has to leverage on research to develop innovative strategies to combat the current and emerging challenges facing teacher education, teaching and resource development.

The college will in particular use action research to improve on its internal operations.

Action research is a philosophy and methodology of research generally applied in the social sciences. It seeks transformative change through the simultaneous process of taking action and doing research, which are linked together by critical reflection.

Action research will be spear headed by the Dean of Curriculums and Dean of Students office depending on the area of concern.
